Ingredients

  • 250 gms Potatoes
  • 2 Onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Black Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 1 Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 5 to 6 Dry Red Chillies
  • 3 tsp Curd
  • Turmeric Powder (a pinch)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil as required

Instructions

  • Boil the potatoes and peel the skin.

  • Then chop them into bite-sized pieces.

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan.

  • Fry the chopped potatoes until golden and crisp.

  • Remove and drain excess oil.

  • Dry roast the cumin seeds, peppercorns, cardamom, cinnamon, red chillies and coriander seeds for a minute.

  • Then grind them to a fine powder.

  • Heat little oil in a pan.

  • Add the ginger-garlic paste, onions, tomatoes, turmeric powder and ground powder.

  • Stir well and saute for a minute.

  • Add the fried potatoes and salt.

  • Add curd and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Remove and serve as a sidedish to roti, naan and rice.
