What is the best way to cook pork chops without drying them out?
The best way to avoid dry pork chops is to cook them to the proper internal temperature. The USDA recommends cooking pork chops to a temperture of 145F degrees.
Another tip to guarantee juicy chops is to let them rest for about five minutes after you cook them before you slice into them. This allows the juices to settle back into the meat.
This recipe results in juicy chops, but if you’re looking for something with even more moisture, try my pork marinade.
Ingredients
- Bone-in Pork Chops: Look for chops that are about one-inch thick. If they’re thinner, reduce the cook time a bit. If they’re thicker, increase the cook time.
- Olive Oil
- Seasonings: Use your favorite pork rub or a combination of kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika. You can sprinkle the spices on individually or mix them together in a small bowl.
SUBSTITUTIONS: You can make this easy grilled recipe with boneless pork chops, too.

- STEP ONE: Preheat the Ninja Woodfire Grill. Set the function to grill, the temperature to hi and the time to 20 minutes. If you want smoke flavor, add pellets to the hopper and press the woodfire technology button.
- STEP TWO: While the grill is preheating, rub the pork chops on both sides with olive oil and spices.
- STEP THREE: Place pork chops on the pre-heated grill grate in a single layer. Close the lid and grill for 8 minutes.
- STEP FOUR: Flip the chops and grill for 4-5 more minutes or until the internal temperature of the chops reaches 145 degrees.
PRO TIP: To measure the internal temperature, use a digital meat thermometer. Place the probe in through the side of the meat toward the center being careful not to touch the bone.
