Sharing is caring!

Caught fresh or bought from the shop, grilled cod has always been a favorite of mine. I love how it flakes and becomes juicy after grilling!

I cook the fillets on a grilling tray or sheet pan for delicate and moist grilled cod. This helps prevent the fish from sticking to the grates and ensures even cooking.

With just a few ingredients and a quick cooking time, this grilled cod recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual outdoor gathering.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Spicy and Savory: Our grilled cod recipe delivers a bold and satisfying flavor with the cajun seasoning, but you can leave that.

Flaky and Buttery: The cod fillets are cooked to perfection, resulting in a tender and flaky texture with a hint of buttery richness.

Quick and Easy: This recipe requires just five simple ingredients and takes 15 minutes to cook. It is perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Versatile and Healthy: Grilled cod is a high-protein dish that can be enjoyed as a standalone meal or paired with your favorite sides.

It’s a white fish for protein in other meals, like tacos, soups, or curries. Grilling it adds so much flavor you can’t get from an oven or pan.

What You’ll Need

  • Cod
  • Cajun Seasoning
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt

How to Grill Cod

Step 1: Preparing The Cod

Then, pat the cod dry with a paper towel and rub it with the Cajun seasoning and salt. Place the cod on a rack on an oven tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Grilling the Cod

Preheat the grill to medium-high. Once the grill is hot, place the tray straight onto the grill. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flaky. Remove the tray from the grill, rest for 5 minutes, and then serve.

How To Store Leftover

Here are some simple storage tips if you have some leftover grilled cod.

Transfer the cod to an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic. Store the cod in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking. Enjoy your leftover cod within 3-4 days for optimal flavor and freshness.

To prevent the cod from becoming dry, reheat it gently over low heat in a skillet or microwave. If the cod seems dry, add a splash of water or broth to the pan while reheating.

What To Serve With Cod

Here are some of my favorite sides to pair with cod.

Grilled Broccoli

Grilled Carrots with Brown Butter

Grilled Cornbread
